Ways You Can Make a Difference
The Salesian Sisters have been making a difference in the lives of thousands of youth in the United States for almost one hundred years. You CAN make a difference in the Salesian Sisters’ ministries by supporting one of the following:
The Sisters’ Retirement Fund: There are 102 Sisters of the Western Province. Currently, 18 reside at the Retirement Home. Of the remaining Sisters, 33% are either at or above retirement age and continue to work in various ministries. Within the next 5-10 years, the Sisters Retirement Home will be at capacity. There are many needs including health care, insurance, transportation, and facility maintenance and upkeep. A gift to the Sisters’ Retirement Home will ensure the Sisters are cared for in their later years.
Friends of Don Bosco Education Fund: This fund was created to ensure long-term financial stability for the Sisters’ educational ministries. Gifts made to this fund become part of the principle fund that accrues interest. Only the interest from the fund is used to provide financial 
assistance towards educational purposes.
Vocations/Formation Fund: The Salesian Sisters of the Western Province own a facility in Southern California that is for the formation of young women choosing Religious Life as their vocation. A Sister, who is the directress of the Vocation Program, works with these young women as they prepare to enter Community Life. There are many expenses involved with this ministry including program costs, recruitment costs, operational expenses, insurance, education, and facility management.
Unrestricted Fund: This fund includes gifts that are non-restricted and can be used for general operational purposes.
