Day 5

In the beginning was the Word.
     All was brought into being through this Word.

The Word became flesh.
     He came as educator—
           to teach us the way of life.

He came as communicator—
     to tell us of His Father’s love—
         in wind
         in fire
               in water
               in earth
         in the inspiration of the mind
         in the reflection of the heart.

All words since
have been an attempt
to deepen this message of love—
the sciences
the humanities
the arts
the Salesian charism.

Working in an ecosystem
     of education that is communication
     and communication that is education
                           we bring the Word to flesh again.
